MOBILITY

OUT AND ABOUT IN THE RUHR AREA

Ideas for the mobility of the future and specific local road construction projects – we do both. The idea for the fast cycleways in the Ruhr area came from the RVR, and is now being rolled out throughout Germany

The Ruhr fast cycleway RS1, when completed, will link together the cities of the Ruhr area over a length of 101 kilometres, from Duisburg to Hamm.

We are particularly experienced in the conversion of former railway trails into cycle paths for everyday and leisure use.

The RVR has developed a concept for the future of cycling in the Ruhr Metropolis. The future-oriented concept of the Regional Cycle Path Network will form the basis for making the bicycle a full partner amongst the modes of transport in the Ruhr Metropolis.

Our objective is a comprehensive cycle path network throughout the Ruhr area.

The RVR is examining all regional transportation routes, and its regional mobility development concept is identifying the opportunities for the mobility of the future in the Ruhr area.

Together with other partners, we contribute to achieving networked mobility in the Ruhr Metropolis.
