The Ruhr Regional Association (RVR) supports the municipalities and districts in their European work, creating visibility for the Ruhr Metropolis in Brussels and in European networks.
Many of the challenges faced by Europe can be found at close quarters in the Ruhr Metropolis. Solutions and projects from the Ruhr Metropolis can therefore be inspirational for other regions in Europe. For example in the sustainable revitalisation of disused industrial sites or the development of green infrastructure.
Formats such as the EU-Ruhr Dialogue have allowed the Ruhr Metropolis to attract attention in Brussels as a European model region, and to work towards the perfect tailoring of subsidy tools. The subsidy funding from the EU will therefore again be optimally effective on the ground during the next subsidy period, 2021-2027.
The RVR views itself as a service provider for the municipalities. Its services in the area of EU funding also include specific products such as the funding guidelines and funding accounting.
